Reasons for using INEM Hungary as strategic partner:

1. INEM Hungary is neutral because it is the Hungarian branch of a global non-profit business network

2. INEM Hungary has access to all ISO /TC 207 information and is allowed to send representatives to all meetings through INEM Main Secretariat.

3. INEM Hungary benefits from the 5 years experience of the INEM Main Secretariat in the ISO process, first with the ISO Strategic Advisory Group on the Environment (SAGE), and then with ISO/TC 207. In fact, the INEM Main Secretariat was a founding member of SAGE and the very first Liaison A organization to ISO/TC 207 in 1993 (before the UN, the OECD, the ICC etc.)

4. INEM Hungary is the only business organization in Hungary which represents an integrated concept of Environmental Management

5.  INEM Hungary is dedicated to creating / reinforcing the pool of Hungarian companies with experience in implementing EM standards, one of the major objectives of any credible national strategy.

6. INEM Hungary has as members most of the certifying companies operating today in Hungary, both domestic or foreign.

7. INEM Hungary has the right to all tools, publications, training courses and concepts, instruments etc. developed by the INEM Main Secretariat or other INEM associations around the world for exclusive use or adaptation / publication in Hungarian.

8. INEM Hungary has the right to participate in the Regional and Global IPEXes (INEM Partnership Exchanges), in which the national INEM members exchange information and know-how, and co-operate on practical projects.  In that way, INEM Hungary keeps abreast of international developments and of ways to improve its performance.

9. INEM Hungary has the best access to all case studies on Environmental Management developed or collected by the INEM Main Secretariat

10.  INEM Hungary participates in the project co-financed by the EU on creating a practical Tool Kit for EMAS for SMEs. This Tool Kit will in fact be able to be used by companies of any size. 

11.  INEM Hungary knows the special expressions and vocabulary for EM, or can help develop those needed so that they match in an integrated way. This is in fact quite important as the words must be clear, unequivocal, prevent confusion etc. The importance of this is underscored by the fact that a complete Sub-Committee of ISO/TC 207 is dedicated solely to Terms and Definitions.

12.  INEM Hungary has already conducted and is able to prepare training packages for companies in the topics of EMAS or ISO 14000.

13.  The INEM Main Secretariat is the main body behind the establishment of the Informal Working Group on the Implementation of ISO 14000, and otherwise has excellent relationship with ISO Central Secretariat (see INEM Bulletin with Editorial of Larry Eicher, Secretary-General of ISO).

14.  INEM Hungary will continue to receive from the INEM Main Secretariat on all questions concerning EMAS and ISO 14000, including the results of the work of the Informal Working Group on the Implementation of ISO 14000.
